I didn't start reading the Harry Potter series until after Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was about to be published, so I was a latecomer to the Harry Potter phenomenon (and actually, I was lucky since I really have only had to endure the long waits for Books 5, 6, and 7!). And now, with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows only a few weeks away, I am both eager to see how the series ends (Harry better not die!) and sad to know that the end is really here.I don't have tons of predictions for the ending, although I do think Professor Snape is not truly evil, and if I had to venture a guess, I think either Hermione or Ron will be the major character that doesn't survive. Part of me hopes I am wrong; I would be quite satisfied if all of the "good guys" survive. I am pretty dorky when it comes to that; I love a happy ending!
Speaking of this book, I have not pre-ordered it yet, so I had better hop online and do that. Between now and then, I hope to reread all 6 books to date, so I am ready for the last chapter of the Harry Potter saga!

Lynn, You sound as excited as I am for that last book to come out. I have held it together up until this point, but I am getting very anxious. Hopefully, if you finish reading it first, you won't ruin the ending for me (like I did to you with Alias):) I agree that Harry should not die (and I hope he doesn't) but I am not sure we are going to be so lucky. I have heard many different opinions as to why Rowling would want to eliminate Harry's character, one being that she does not want anyone to be able to continue the stories when she is not around anymore. If she should choose to end the series with Harry's death, I wonder how the millions of kids who have let Harry Potter into their hearts are going to handle it...
Lynn, I am almost ashamed to say that I have not read any Potter books yet. It is definitely on my to-do list. If they are as good as you make them sound, I'm sure I will be in for a treat!
